Excellence Strengthened by Faith!
The WCEA Committee was highly complimentary about our school community and shared these thoughts:
"The Visiting Committee believes that St. Michael School has all the needed components in place to ensure high achievement for all students. In the recent past, St. Michael School underwent several turnovers in leadership. However, through the dedication of parents and staff members, they were able to overcome this obstacle. Their belief that St. Michael School is bigger than one person; it's a community was evident throughout our visit. They now have a strong principal who will provide stability through her strong commitment to Catholic Education. The Accreditation Team spent time reviewing all the documents needed for the Self-Study process. By visiting the classrooms and interviewing shareholders, we were in agreement that St. Michael School has a strong Catholic Identity with strong leadership, and dedicated parents and staff. There is a strong connection between the school and the parish. We were overwhelmed by the strong enthusiasm and love for the school that was felt throughout our visit. St. Michael School is living out their mission of providing all students with an academically challenging education in a Christ-centered environment."
SMS was awarded the highest accreditation duration of six years as a result of our stellar review with the WCEA committee. We thank all the Teachers, Staff, Parents, and School Board members for all their efforts in preparing the school and living life as Jesus wanted.

The essay is a student's personal account of their experience with receiving a Catholic education. We're very proud Josie feels the way she does and affirms our efforts on providing an education based on excellence... strengthened by faith.
"As a new family at Saint Michaels, we couldn’t feel more welcome. My daughter, Ava wasn’t enjoying school prior to coming here. Since she’s started, the principal, and all the teachers have been so kind, supportive and positive. The students have welcomed her with open arms. She looks forward to “class” each day! We can’t wait until she can actually go in person! Thank you for such a positive experience!"

"Joining the Saint Michael School has been one of the best discussions our family has made. At SMS you are not just a number, you are a face, you are a family. When you walk into the school you just feel welcome. We are only a second-year family, but our experience so far has been nothing less than excellent, even with the learning pains of COVID. Distant learning, of course, has its challenges but with the support of the teachers, it makes it much more bearable. SMS goes out of the way to make sure that students feel special from porch drop-offs from teachers to packet pickups with special treats. The small class sizes provide more enrichment for students, and parents. It's nice that not only are our children making friends, but the parents get close too. Another value that you get at SMS is great moral values, that we are losing in public schools. I remember the first assembly I attended, I could not have been prouder to see my son say, “Our Father” and then place his hand on his heart for the Pledge of Allegiance. We are a proud SMS family, and so thankful for all the staff for their hard work."

"I am a product of Catholic Education. My mother once said, " I will clean toilets if that means you get to go to Catholic School". When I had children, I knew that it would be a priority for me to send my boys to Catholic School.
We have been part of the St. Michael School community for over 9 years. In that time, I have watched the faculty and staff teach my" entire" child. Beyond academics, they have learned how to be good citizens, how to care for their community, have compassion for others- all centered around a strong core of Catholic values and beliefs. St. Michael's has instilled discipline, respect, and kindness in my children alongside the ability to create effective PowerPoint presentations and higher-level common core math skills. I am so grateful for the faculty and staff because they nurture and feel a strong responsibility for ALL the students, regardless if the child is in their class. It is like having an army of secondary parents watching your kids!
Beyond being a school, St. Michael is a community for the entire family. I have developed friendships with other parents that will be with me long after we graduate. The school families celebrate, support, and pray for one another through celebrations and challenging times. We are connected. In a day and age where it is very easy to become isolated and transactional, St. Michaels reminds us of the importance and the power of community.
As I look back at the last decade, I feel profoundly blessed that my children have been given the strong, solid foundation of a St. Michael education and feel extremely grateful to be given the gift of community and support that is beyond measure. St. Michael School has been a blessing for the entire family."

"This is my eighth grade year at Saint Michael's which means I’m leaving next year, and while I’m excited to attend high school I am a little sad I won’t be seeing my friends and teachers everyday. I have had an amazing time at this school and I feel as though anyone would be privileged to go here. Every year I’ve made new friends and every year my teachers are excellent. Some years are harder than others, probably fifth to sixth grade the most, because you transition from having just a little homework and not moving classes to having more homework and moving just about every class. Other than that classes are really fun.
I started in kindergarten so I don’t know what it’s like to not have any friends starting a year. I always try, however, when we get a new student to include them so that they don’t feel left out or isolated. Class projects that we receive throughout the year are also really fun and can be very challenging. Every year we have a science fair where we choose a project that we enjoy and then do research on said project and finally have the fair. Sixth, seventh, and eighth graders also have a chance to go to the diocese science fair to win against different schools. One final thing I would like to say is that if you are a parent reading this I believe that your child would love it here and that you would too."

“As a St. Michael alumnus myself, I am happy that I was able to send all three of my kids to St. Michael School. I saw that they were more than ready—they were ahead of most kids when they advanced to high school. They already had the foundation of character, discipline and study habits they’d need for college. More than anything, I’m grateful that St. Michael’s teachers and staff showed them that their efforts to serve others makes God present in their lives and therefore in the world.”

When I drop my kids off at St. Michael School, I know they will be cared for and educated in a way that builds self-esteem, self-reliance and respect for others. The character and work ethic I see from all the students at St. Michael is inspiring and a cut above other schools."

We chose to send our children to St. Michael’s not only for the academic education but the education on how to be a contributing member of a community. St. Michael's focuses on the whole child, teaching curriculum for the brain as well as the soul. St. Michaels raises and educates children to be good people.
