Dear St. Michael School Families,
So incredibly proud of our engineers and scientists in 6th - 8th grades! Once again, our students were well recognized at the Diocese of Oakland Science Fair. Julian Araiza, pictured above, took 1st place and has the opportunity to move onto the Alameda County Science Fair! Our other students all took 2nd place in their respective categories against hundreds of other students. I couldn't be more proud of how well we are living out our Dominican pillar of Study!
I want to thank all of you for your birthday wishes! It is so fun to be at school on your birthday. The joyful birthday singing, hugs and high fives, and all the cute cards, flowers, and wishes from the students were so sweet!
As we celebrate St. Valentine's Day and Random Acts of Kindness Day on the 17th, Student Leadership has been challenging the students to act with kindness to a specific group of people, such as classmates and siblings. It's been a great reminder to live out our theme for the year from the Gospel of Matthew: Let Your Light Shine!
Blessings of Love,
Alison

News from Eagle’s Nest
.
This month we are celebrating the wonderful works of Eric Carle! As shown above, our outdoor board features The Very Hungry Caterpillar and announces that “We are filled with the fruits of the Holy Spirit” to tie in our Catholic Identity! Soon our indoor board will be full of flowers featuring his book The Tiny Seed. Both of these children’s books are family favorites and can be used to talk about the Christian topics of transformation
And good soil to name a few!
We are also celebrating Valentine’s Day in Eagle’s Nest with a pizza party!!
February 14th is a minimum day with after school Eagle’s Nest, so if your child would like to eat pizza and participate in fun activities come into Eagle’s Nest before Friday and sign them up!
Reminder: Monday February 17th is a school holiday for Presidents’ Day
