St. Michael School is a Christ-centered community inspiring future leaders through academic excellence strengthened by faith.
Did you know that you can make clouds in a mason jar? Just ask a 3rd grader how you can do this weather lab at home.
The 4th graders are becoming excellent electricians as they learn about electric circuits while building their own flashlights!
It's all about chemical changes during a chemistry lab in 8th grade science!
Dear St. Michael School Families,
It has been an incredibly fun past two weeks of school as we celebrated Catholic Schools Week and the 100th Day of School! I pray that your family enjoyed all of the festivities and spirit activities. I thank the faculty and staff for their hard work in preparing everything to sparkle for open house! I also thank our 8th grade student leaders who put together all of the games each morning!
It is incredible that we are now less than 80 days away from summer vacation. Please make every effort to have your child arrive on time each day and here at school ready to learn. This includes eating breakfast and having a healthy snack and lunch, so that your child has the necessary nutrients and fuel to productively make it through the school day. We also thank you for your partnership at home in ensuring that your child reads each night and completes all of his/her homework. Lastly, the cold and flu season continues. Please make sure that you keep your child home for a full 24 hours if he/she has a fever, major productive cough, and/or stomach issues. Thank you again for your support!
I hope that you are enjoying the Mission Spotlight photos; it's a fun way for everyone to get a sneak peek into our classrooms and all of the fabulous ways that our students are living out our Mission in both academic excellence and faith. This week, it's all about science. Throughout the remaining weeks of school, I'll highlight other subject areas and grades. Don't forget that you can also view some fun photos on https://www.facebook.com/smsliv/. Enjoy!
I have received the calendar dates that are provided to me by the Diocese of Oakland School Department. The faculty, staff, and myself are now working on the draft calendar for our school community for the 2020 - 2021 school year. It is just about ready to go. We will email it out just as soon as it is ready. Please note that the school year will begin sometime during the week of August 17, 2020.
Blessings, Alison

The Auction committee is looking for wine for our wine pull and supplies that can be used for the Silent Auction baskets. Items needed include:
If you have any of these items at home you do not need, please consider donating them for use in our Silent Auction items to help us offset costs. Any unwanted gifts cards or items you have monetary value or receipts for, we can include that amount towards your mandatory family contribution of $50. Please drop off your items in the school office, attention “Vanessa Gallo”, by February 14. If you have questions about what you can donate, you can contact Vanessa directly at vanessa@gallocommunications.
The Auction committee is also looking for someone who can help monitor Silent Auction items on the night of the auction 7-11 p.m. (double hours counted)—February 29th. This role involves moving baskets from the ball room to the checkout room in the lobby area once they close, then marking off receipts when guests come to claim their auction items. The task is simple. We need helpers to stay with the items until all items are collected to keep them safe. If you as a family choose to work 3 volunteer hours instead of a $50 contribution, this task will get you those hours and more. For questions about this volunteer role, contact Vanessa Gallo. She is overseeing silent auction items and can give instructions what to do. Thanks!
Please donate boxes of Oatmeal and Muffin Mixes for the next two weeks.
Share the love of a full belly to hungry families!
