It's all about dinosaur fossils in 2nd grade!
Dear St. Michael School Families,
It is hard to believe that we are ending the 2nd trimester and on Monday will begin the 3rd trimester of the school year! Report cards will go home next Thursday. Time seems to be moving at lightening speed this school year. We are in the midst of the Admissions season for the 2020 - 2021 school year. We ask that you please share the good news of SMS with your friends and family members. If you have a child who currently does not attend SMS, but will be eligible for TK or K or a transfer from public school, please make sure to go online and complete the application process for the 2020 - 2021 school year.
Please note that all morning drop-offs should be done inside the school courtyard, unless you are parking and walking your child inside the school. No drop-offs should be happening at the front of the school, nor should students be walking in the drive-in gates. I am very happy to report that the inside drop-off system is going very well!
I pray that your family is enjoying the Lenten Wednesday Family and Faith nights! It is a wonderful opportunity to slow down and connect with one another and share in our Catholic faith during a hectic week. Hopefully during your family time, you are able to faithfully live out at least one of the three pillars of Lent: prayer, fasting, and giving to those in need.
Lenten Blessings, Alison

Our next PTG meeting will be held Thursday of next week on March 12th at 6 pm followed by the School Board meeting at 7 pm. We'll be meeting in the 7th-grade classroom. All parents/guardians are welcome to attend.
How has the Drive-Thru Drop Off in the courtyard been working for you and your child(ren)? We've received nothing but positive comments and are considering making it the norm. We're also looking at developing a Courtyard Drive-Thru Pick Up as well. If you're passionate about either topic or have some suggestions on how and if we should implement either please let us know. Come to the meeting next week or email us at smsptg@smsliv.org

News from Eagle’s Nest
What a lovely start to March we’ve had! So nice for chalk art and for snack chat time :)
So you guessed it!! March’s showcase author is none other than the great Dr. Seuss! Aka Theodor “Ted” Seuss Geisel! He is known for his work writing and illustrating more than 60 books under the pen name Dr. Seuss. It is really difficult to pick a favorite from his wonderful collection!
We chose Horton Hears a Who! to highlight on our outdoor board and the quote “A person’s a person no matter how small.” I recommend reading this book as a family if you haven’t already done so as there are so many great lessons contained in just this one children’s fable I.e equality, faith, protection of the most helpless, protection and appreciation of the environment and so much more!
Our very own Isabel Iniquez (6th grade) shared her artistic talent with us and drew Horton for the outdoor board!
The rest of our students contributed by making their own clovers for the wall!
We had such a fun time with this project and we will enjoy many more works of art this month!
