My teaching philosophy centers around the idea that every mind is a garden that needs the proper nurturing care. Students are fertile ground and are ready and willing to learn. I approach teaching focused on presenting enthusiastic interactive lessons that encourage critical thinking while applying the concepts as described in the Common Core Standards and state content standards. I look for ways that all students can access curricula regardless of ability or educational maturity. My hope is that each student leaves my classroom feeling confident and full of ideas.
I view teaching in a Catholic School as a ministry where I can share the beauty of Church teachings and values that help to create kind, responsible, and faith-filled students who will make a difference in the world around them. I also teach in a Catholic school because of the strong sense of community and love surrounding what becomes another family.
