Monique Makepeace is a parent volunteer that has been offering her creative talents to St. Michaels for over 21 years. She has been a vital asset to the school in bringing the joys of art to the hearts and minds of our impressionable students.
In addition to leading a team of volunteers in several art classes each week Monique donates her skills to the annual
Wine Tasting and Auction Gala's coveted "Makepeace Painted Chair". Each year Monique collaborates with the winning bidder of this prize to develop a custom painted wooden chair for the school's
library. The chair remains in the library and the winning bidder gets to leave a lasting impression for future students to enjoy.
When taking a tour of the school don't miss stopping by the library to take in these original pieces of art. Many notable Alumni families have left their stamp via a "Makepeace Painted Chair". How many can you identify?
You may also like to stop by the extended care's "
Eagle's Nest" room to view additional paintings by Mrs. Makepeace.
