Why I Teach at St. Michael School I chose to teach at St. Michael School because I wanted to serve in a community that fosters Catholic faith development in young people.
My Philosophy of Teaching I believe that all students are individuals who possess unique God-given gifts, and everyone learns at their own pace and in their own ways. I use multiple methods of teaching to ensure that I reach all of my students and remind myself daily that "nobody gets left behind."
My Background I graduated from Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy in Pasadena in 1988 and from their went on to pursue a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. I stayed in SLO to complete a teacher preparation program and at the same time, earned a Master of Arts in English. I have taught English at every grade level 7-12 for many years both in Orange County and in Pleasanton, California. I am truly enjoying my experience with middle schoolers and feel at home at St. Michael School.
My Life Outside St. Michael I enjoy taking care of our many animals including 3 cats, 3 dogs and a horse. I also enjoy watching my children play their favorite sport--volleyball and spending time on the Central Coast with my husband and family. Finally, I am a big travel enthusiast and have many wonderful memories of our family adventures and also look forward to new experiences too!
