St. Michael School is proud to share that its own, Ms. Vanessa Silva (1st Grade Teacher), is the recipient of the 2023-2024 St. Francis de Sales Teacher Award.

Ms. Silva is one of eight inaugural recipients to be honored with this prestigious award in honor of St. Francis de Sales, Patron Saint of Teachers and Co-Patron of the Diocese of Oakland. 

The award honors Catholic school teachers who go above and beyond to ensure that each one of the students in their care receives an outstanding Catholic educational opportunity steeped in the Gospel message and example.

St. Francis de Sales is known for being a compassionate Priest and Bishop who believed deeply in sharing his faith with others. Ms. Silva provides an academically excellent learning experience. In addition, she creates a classroom filled with love and faith.

We celebrate Ms. Silva for her exemplary and outstanding service who is the epitome of what it means to be a Catholic School Educator who models the characteristics of St. Francis de Sales.
